Reith IN Summer
Tyrol’s diverse mountain landscape has everything you’ll need for a relaxing or action-packed holiday.
Reith im Alpbachtal offers a huge choice of sports and leisure activities: hikes on well-marked forest trails, mountain bike tours and cycle rides for all abilities, paragliding, swimming in Reither See lake or the pool at Reither Almen, mini-golf, tennis, fishing and much, much more.
Voted “Tyrol’s most beautiful village”…and “Europe’s most beautiful flower village”
Reith is situated on a 660 m-high plateau, which is blessed with plenty of sunshine and snow.
The village is surrounded by high mountains, including the 2,200 m-high Wiedersbergerhorn.
Return of the livestock
to the Alpbach Valley
with church festival on 19/09 and 26/09/2009
Reith’s farmers’ market and the return of the livestock go back a long way. The events celebrating the return of the cows from the mountain pastures have developed out of farming traditions and local handicrafts.
Some 40 craftsmen come to show off their skills: weaving, carving, knife-grinding, soap-making…
The local clubs serve up Tyrolean specialities such as Kiacheln, Kasnocken and Zillertaler Krapfen.
Winter wonderland
Enjoy the sunny slopes of the Wiedersbergerhorn – the best ski area in the Alpbach Valley.
However, the valley also has plenty to offer those who aren’t interested in downhill skiing: cross-country skiing, tobogganing, ice-skating, winter hikes and horse-drawn sleigh rides through romantic wintery woods.
